October 12th, Pink Lancers Fight Cancer 2!

Dedicated Servers (Formally GOWCharity) is hosting the 2nd annual Pink Lancers Fight Cancer; a 24 hour gaming marathon benefiting the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Last year, Pink Lancers raised over $3,000 to benefit Breast Cancer Research and Prevention. This year, we would love to top that amount while continuing to spread the word about Breast Cancer Prevention. The 24 hours will host streams by some of the biggest groups in the Gears of War community, such as The EGFC, GCON, Epic Games Universe, and more. The event starts October 12th (Noon PM EST) till October 13th (Noon PM EST). Over the 24 hours, there will be special guests, giveaways, and lots of Gears!

Mario Marathon For Childs Play

Just wanted to make a quick post about the Mario Marathon. The Mario Marathon is currently going on. It was one of the first charity streams and a big inspiration for me to start streaming for charity. Currently they are at over 70,000 for Childsplay Play.

GOWCharity: 8 Hour Mini Marathon in Support of the Epic Games and Insomniac Games MuckRuckus Teams

The Dedicated Servers crew will put on another GOWCharity event to help raise awareness and funds for the Epic Games Muck Ruckus team. On June 15th Epic Games will be represented by some of its biggest devs in the 2012 Muck Ruckus event. The Muck Ruckus event is a 5 Mile military-style run covered in mud. The money raised during these events goes directly to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Dedicated Servers will do a micro GOWCHARITY marathon this weekend in support

Rockstar Weekend Event Recap

I wanted to post a quick recap of our event last week. During our 24 hour marathon we raised $420 for the AbleGamers Foundation. The AbleGamers foundation has been added as a donation option on the IndieGala bundle site. IndieGala is a choose-your-own-price bundle site for independently developed games. You enter in what you would like to donate for the 12 games in the bundle, then you digitally download the games to your hard drive either DRM free or with Steam.

You can also choose who gets the money that you have donated. The money can go straight to the developers who made the games, a charity like Ablegamers.org, or the disaster relief fund for the Emilia Earthquake in Italy. A Rockstar Weekend for AbleGamers

The Dedicated Servers team is proud to announce our next event. June 1st and 2nd, Dedicated Servers Charity will host a weekend where they game like a Rockstar, and you can help. We will be streaming Rockstar games all weekend, raising money for The AbleGamers Foundation to help them continue the work they do for disabled gamers.

Join us as we play Max Payne, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Bully, Rockstar Presents Table Tennis, and maybe more! As always, we will have prizes to give away from our generous sponsors, and surprises all along the way.

Mariothon 2, raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society and Relay for Life!

This weekend, six people will attempt to complete every main series Mario game during a sixty hour livestream event, all to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society through Relay for Life. This group has been raising money for Relay for Life for four years, and this is the second year of the Mariothon. The entire livestream can be watched through their twitch.tv stream and on their webpage. Which team will reach their donation goal first, Team Mario or Team Yoshi?

A ridiculously long marathon, raising money for a great cause, and livestreaming the entire event. What more do you need? I’m definitely going to stop in and watch the madness unfold. I know that after eight to ten hours of playing games straight we start to get a little crazy, I can’t wait to see what happens at the fourty or fifty hour mark.
